Edit Photo Details Mennonite family in White Sands, NM.   #family #sanddunes #playtime #mennonite #familytrip #whitesandsnewmexico
I noticed this family off in the distance, playing in the sand dunes. After setting up my camp for the night, I went over and spoke with them for 20 minutes, sharing stories with the father. At the end of our conversation, I asked for a portrait, but I could tell he wasn't overly enthused with the idea. He was fearful of his family's faces being on the internet. I gladly compromised and asked if I could take a photo from a distance. He was happy with that and this is the resulting image.
