Climbing the Vinicunca (or Rainbow) Mountain is not easy. A 3 hour walk uphill at 5000 m leads to the Vinicunca Mountain, one of the most breathtaking places I've ever been to. Fortunately, experienced quechua guides help the climbers reach this sacred place. This picture shows Cristobal, my guide. I was fascinated by his sincere interest in me and my country. While I wore a thermal jacket and boots, he wore a shirt and sandals. For 6 hours I felt like I was in the 14th century. Magical.
