Celebrating Bacchus
In December, in Vila de Frades, a small village of Alentejo, Portugal, is held celebrations dedicated to 'talha' wine. This technique developed by the Romans, of wine making in clay amphorae called 'talhas' has been safeguarded.
In the last day of the celebrations men and women roam the streets of the village, where the doors of small wineries are open and the wine is served.
But before entering is sung tradicional songs as way of saying thanks.
