Edit Photo Details Afternoon tea with my dad.   #family #afternoon_tea #traditions_around_the_world_assignment
It's a simple tradition but one that means the world to me. It's always the same. I walk in, pop the kettle on and say to dad, "cuppa, dad?". Dad always answers with a warm smile, " oh, I wouldn't mind!" My dad is now 85 years old. He is starting to forget who his family is. We lost mum very suddenly four years ago and that sudden loss taught me to cherish every moment. I often get out family photos during these visits and we chat about the good old days keeping the memories and stories alive.

What a lovely tradition between you and your dad, thank you for sharing your story with us. I love the pairing of this photo with your caption — this is so well done Carole. I feel like you're about to sit down with your dad, so you two can "chat about the gold old days, keeping the memories and stories alive."
