    As I watched this springer cub make his way around the wildflowers, I was thinking, “Please stand up!” Suddenly he stopped and stood high above the plants. Would like to think he could hear my thoughts, but know for sure he couldn’t. Having watched many cubs over the last 26 years, I knew he would stand to locate MOM. Black bears are omnivores and eat what they can find. Much of their diet consists of grasses, flowers, roots, and moths. When possible, they certainly eat animals.
