In early April of 2017 my wife and I set out on our yearly aurora hunting expedition to Iceland. One particular evening the wind was blowing easily 50mph so we decided to go to bed. At around 1am, I awoke and peaked outside to the calmest and clearest conditions in days. I noticed the aurora was active. Quickly we dressed and drove to this location that we had scouted earlier in the week. The result was this image. An amazing night and a good example of how Iceland weather can change so quickly.
