Bald eagle on an iceberg
On the Tracy Arm Fjord, near Juneau Alaska, this bald eagle was in its natural habitat and perching on the iceberg. It is warming considerably as glaciers are melting. Bald eagles were disappearing in 20th century due to wide use of DDT pesticide and destruction of natural habitat (nesting, feeding and roost sites). With Endangered Species act regulation, bald eagles flourished and were taken off the endangered list. This holds lessons for importance of regulation for climate change.
