When researching the best Greek islands to visit on my second European excursion, I stumbled across an article about lesser-known Northern Greece. Upon reading it, I knew I had to add it to my itinerary. So, I ventured north on a train from Athens to the city of Kalabaka, which is at the foot of Meteora, a collection of breathtaking pillars and home to six monasteries. From "The Sunset Spot" on top of Meteora, I enjoyed one of the most astounding sunsets over the otherworldly landscape.
