Fresh Catch in Havana
I snapped this shot on day one in Cuba, exploring the street life and local day-to-day in Old Havana. This gentleman had retrieved four fresh fish from El Malecon, carrying two on each side of an extremely heavy wooden pole. Yet flawlessly, he reserved one hand for his daughter and one for the offerings. Two days later, I ran into him again in an outdoor market in Havana, carrying more fresh fish. I showed him the picture, and all he could exclaim was, "my hija bella" (my beautiful daughter).
