    Edit Photo Details Thunderstorm over Big Bend National Park   #sunset #rain #landscape #big #lightning #thunderstorm #bend
After hiking through the Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park, I pulled over to Sotol Vista point on the way back to my campsite because I noticed a thunderstorm was forming in the distance. While I was unsuccessful in capturing lightning, the dark skies contrasted dramatically with the warm colors of sunset and the sweeping landscape. The tiny little notch on the horizon line in the center of the picture is Santa Elena Canyon (so that notch represents 1,500 feet!).
