Waves wash ashore at Diamond Ice Beach in Iceland. Many of the shots from here are composed looking out to the ocean, but I choose a side view of the horizontal streaks of receding water. I liked how the waves created a horizontal lines around the pieces of ice. With intimate landscapes like this I choose a composition that had a variety in sizes and shapes of the ice to keep it interesting and break up the pattern. A slow shutter speed was used to create soft white streaks around the ice.
