    This American cockroach (Periplaneta americana) was lying dead in the corridor of the building. The opportunity to photograph one of these insects close up, dead or alive, was too good to miss. This image is a focus stack of six images, taken with natural light. The subject is a bit worse for wear, but still provides an interesting insight into its form, if not function.
