I saw this beautiful colourful spider, called the Leucauge venusta in its diagonal web in my back garden. The silvery metallic tones would reflect the sun light and I wanted to capture it's beauty as it sat in wait for its next meal. I used to have a huge fear of spiders, but have come to appreciate the beauty of many of them, especially ones like this that have such rich colour and detail. Shot with my 18-55 mm lens with my Raynox 250 conversion lens.
