Mayon Volcano is the most active volcano in the Philippines, which have erupted 49 times in the past 400 years. It is a part of the Pacific Ring of Fire like other volcanoes around the Pacific Ocean. Because of its symmetrical conical shape it is renowned as the perfect cone. The upper slopes are steep averaging 35 to 40 degrees.
