These are 'islands' of the Thousand Islands, New York. While going to Niagara Falls from New York along the I 90 West route, there is a a diversion to I 81 N to Alexandria Bay in the Syracuse region. The cruise to go around the Thousand Islands is from this port. There can be other starting points as well. A weekend trip to both to the Falls and the Thousand Islands can be linked together. The diversion route is only 90 minutes from the main route.
