Thunderstorm on Montana's Hi-Line
While most of Montana qualifies as being somewhat off the beaten path, the region along the Hi-Line in the northern part of the state truly is. It was always sparsely populated, but in recent years especially young people have left the area.
With its open space, the grain elevators, bars and other symbols hinting at its location in the American West, this is one place in the U.S. I'll always return to.
