What used to be was the Kittery Naval Base which is now named Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. Many of the buildings have been abandoned and are in the works of being processed as property to the Historical Society. Many people remember being stationed at this base but over the years, budget cuts have made bases close or are turned to civilian living. Though there are jobs, who knows exactly how long this base will remain open
