    I paid a farewell visit to the house where I grew up. It is empty now, populated only by my fading memories. This photo was taken looking down from the second floor at a part of the staircase below. Without overtaxing the metaphor, I think when looking at it of the thousands of steps taken there -- the potential, the achievements, the quotidian transactions...
