Forests For the Gods
The trail at East Glacier Trail by Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau beckons you to follow it deep into the interior of a lush 100 year old forest. The air is crisp and trees reach high into the sky to form a green canopy. Thick carpets of moss and lichens, including Iceland, white worm, foam, coral, reindeer, cover the forest floor deadening noise so that the only sounds you hear are the occasional chirp of a bird or the rustle of your feet. How can you not return to such a magical place?
