My boy scout troop went on a kayaking expedition in Cape Lookout National Seashore back in 2016. I asked my friend to stand by the water looking out at the ocean. I did this to recreate the feeling of awe that I experienced taking one of my other photographs at the Grand Canyon, which also had a person gazing out yonder.
