Some of my bird watching friends refer to the yellow-rumped warbler as the "Butter-Butt Bird". Their nickname for this bird makes me smile. Birds are sometimes named after a physical feature. When I saw this bird yesterday, the sun was shinning on it's rump, making its' yellow feathers look as yellow as butter. I thought of my friends and smiled.
