I was watching and photographing these friendly construction workers for quite awhile from across the way atop what is called The Highline, a wonderful public park that was built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan's West Side. At one point one of them turned around, saw me, waved and gave me the friendliest smile. I was amazed by how comfortable and in his element he seemed so high up above the city streets...and without any safety harness that I could see!
