Much of Holland feels classically idyllic with postcard-perfect landscapes and villages with quaint town squares. But In sharp contrast lies Rotterdam, a city that chose to emerge from WWII destruction as a modern city and haven of contemporary design and architecture. It may not have the highest skyscrapers or the densest skyline, but for years into the future, we will look back fondly on our time calling Rotterdam home and especially remember its epic sunsets over the River Maas.
