I'd been wanting to photograph a lantern festival for a long time and finally one came to my area! It was only half the size of some of them, but 5,000 lanterns still looks amazing - it was a clear night with a full moon (that's the bright white dot on the left). I noticed that people were decorating their lanterns in memorium or with dreams. I lost my father when I was 24, so I included his name, as well as my hopes for love, friends, and career. I only wish I had a 1.4 lens ;)
