Our hand-raised lovebird is an indispensable member of the family. He responds to the first sound we make in the morning. He waits to eat till we are all at the table. If outside the cage, he would fly over to greet us upon returning home with happy chirping and affectionate nipping on our lips. When I work in the home office, he would land on my shoulder, preening his feathers or grinding contentedly. This is our bird, big love in a small package. (smartphone image)
