This image haunts me! I remain filled with curiosity and unanswered questions. In the Oxford English dictionary, the first synonym for love is compassion. This is an outstretched leathery hand of untold hardship of a homeless East Indian man. The deep lines and dirty ragged nails tell us of unimaginable hardships. This is my visual plea for compassion towards human suffering. With this special kind of love in our hearts, we see others less fortunate with softer eyes and greater acceptance.
