What is presented within this picture, is a regular, Tibetan, yak. For many it is indeed a rare creature, for it is not seen everywhere or known everywhere. Although very ordinary, it is the essence of life for many in Tibet. The yak provides food. Abundant in its meat, milk, and butter. The yak provides shelter. Shielding the cold, offering its lustrous, warm wool. The yak is huge and also beautiful, representing another aspect of the beautiful Tibet.
