I was walking through the charred remains of a forest near Mount Tallac marred by fire. I was struck by the sight of this vibrant green moss that was growing on a blackened broken branch. I was encouraged and moved, it was as if the moss was paying homage, bringing forth life after death. It was as if the moss was providing renewed purpose for the destroyed existence of the branch. It was beautiful to me.
