I am half Filipino and half Icelandic, but my siblings and I were born and raised in Bergen, Norway. The rootlessness we have experienced is obvious in the way we live our lives. I have always longed for a closer relationship with my family, but the distance between us has made that very difficult. But my nephew changed everything. He glued our family together, and I'm eternally grateful to him.
