Natural Indigo extracted from Indigo leaves along with Raw sugar, Lime and Cassiothora seeds ferment in circular vats and this combinaton makes the "unstickable" indigo becomes more adaptable to colour the fabrics. The Vats retain the liquid for more than 20 years with the same liquid topped up and reused. Mari has been toiling on this process for more than a decade in a Fabrics unit in Auroville, Pondicherry. Mari makes clothes breathe naturally and is my unsung hero for Organic dyed clothing.
