Proud Hermit's Thrush
Since this shot got a lot of attention and I like the way it looks, decided to post it for the daily dozen. This sparrow was proudly standing on the fountain rail next to me for a minute or so and I was fortunate enough to take the shot. Madison Square Park, New York, NY. (A friend of mine from NGM, Richard, corrected me on the previous assumption, which turns out that this bird is a Hermit's Thrush, not a sparrow and even more interesting, it is rare for them to be in the city environment.)
