    Reported by:

A H'mong man stands atop a pole in the remote village of Nam Khat, in the northern Vietnam province of Yen Bai, using the wind to separate the husks from rice as he pours the grains from a basket. The rice terraces of Yen Bai are a hive of activity during the day, women chatting as they cut the rice while children playing in the stalks. The men tend to do the bagging and machine work. As dusk falls, a quiet descends over the village. It is my favourite time here.
