We were surrounded by wildfires this summer. The smoke was thick and made it difficult to breathe. But I'm an avid runner and hate being stuck inside on a treadmill or elliptical. As a photographer, the smoke had one benefit. It acted as nature's perfect filter, and I was able to use that to my advantage.
