emerging bubble
This rufous hummingbird was grooming itself, perched on a screw attached to our porch. I took photos as he was grooming and captured this bubble or fluid being released from his beak. From info I looked up, it may be an oil used for the grooming of their feathers and was using it to rid any PARASITE or debris collected on his tongue.
You can see the area on his chest where he was spending quit a bit of time and attention preening. this photo was taken through a tinted window.
