The black-legged kittiwake (Rissa tridactyla)
Beautiful arctic birds resting on an ice flow about 80 degrees north, Svalbard. The population are declining and the scientists don't really know why. One of the theories is plastic in their system. 1 gram of plastic can kill this beautiful bird. Svalbard has a huge problem with marine litter due to currents and destructive human impact.
