My precious friend has dementia and sadly she no longer remembers many people, including family. Instinctively she knows when it's time for her husband to return from work and she stands and quietly watches for his truck. When she sees him, she rushes to his side and greets him with kisses and great delight. I have had the privilege of caring for her a few times; witnessing this daily ritual is priceless.
