    The Rufous-collared Sparrow is prey to the nest parasite, cowbird thrush or chamon, ejecting some of their eggs to deposit their own, which are empollados and bred by the chincol this species is distributed throughout South America (except for Falkland Islands), including land of the Fuego and Isla de los Estados, Central America, Aruba, Curaçao, and the island of Hispaniola
