This is a good spot to visit and see fish, birds and other wildlife. The Samish River flows through this hatchery area and some adult fish are captured and eggs harvested to add more young fish to the populations in this area. The young are protected as they're being reared to fingerling size, then released into the wild. Some are tagged and studied to learn more about their numbers and distribution.
