    Standing atop a cliff on Santa Catalina Island of the coast of Southern California on a beautiful sunny day...I loved seeing the boats coming to the island from the mainland. What caught my eye was the patterns made by the white wakes of the boats as they raced across the blue waters of the Pacific.
