Twigs cast shadows on a Rough Green snake's head as the slender, fairly long and nonvenomous reptile slithered away among bushes on a sunny day at the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve. Using its green skin for camouflage, the Rough Green snake spends most of its time hunting for insects hiding in plants and trees.
