Taking about a week, this Kazakh family migrates just over 100 miles every winter to their Spring homestead. For two years, I joined a family on their winter journey as they migrated through the Altai Mountains in Mongolia. The migration is about movement. You can feel a little magic in a heard of 1000 animals following each other across a frozen tundra. Camels, sheep, horses, people, and eagles make the journey together. It was the movement I wanted to capture in my photograph as we traveled.
