Edit Photo Details The Making   #kathakali #makeuproom #classicaldance
Kathakali is one of the ancient classical dance forms practised in South India. It takes about 3 hours for the makeup to be completed before the dance starts. The artist use colour made of rice paste. it synthesizes music, vocal performers, choreography, hand and facial gestures together to express ideas. We can see all the costumes hanging on the wall behind. I managed to sneek into the makeup room to get a glimpse of this tedious process.
