    My mother came to stay with us after the birth of my second child. Maybe it's the hormones, maybe it's a primal instinct, but the minute the doctor hands me that new human I've just welcomed to the world I want my mother by my side. How lucky I am to have such a desire? Watching her teach my daughter how to use a spoon brought me to tears thinking about how she probably taught me in just the same way one generation ago..
