    THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN AT TAMIL NADU a state in INDIA The Bengal tiger (Panthera tigris Tigris) is a tiger population native to the Indian subcontinent. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List since 2008, In 2006, there were only 1,411 tigers but India's tiger population has increased by more than 30 percent in the last four years, according to a new census, raising hopes for the survival of the endangered species.
