Edit Photo Details Semi-automatic Texting Devices 1844-2017   #keys
These are semi-automatic telegraph keys. Electronic texting has been around since 1844. Text messages were sent by telegraph keys. There still were telegraph/text messages going commercially until the late 1990’s ship to shore because in spite of its antiquity it was a very reliable means of communicating when all else failed telegraph messages would get though.
