Life and death at the edge of the world
It's a rough life for a puffin. There are several predators looking for a meal at the colonies - but perhaps none more prevalent than the Great Skua. Locally known as 'Bonxies' these large birds are constantly flushing all the puffins. And every once in a while they catch one.
And after spending many days at the edges of these cliffs, One day as I was thinking about calling it a day, the opportunity presented to capture the circle of life in motion. At point blank range.
