Fingers of warmth from the early morning light stretch from Taransay, across the frigid waters of West Loch Tarbert, to the shores of Huishinish, on the Hebridean island of Harris. The Western Isles, on the edge of Europe are amongst the most beautiful of Scotland's wild places. Largely untouched by modernity, they offer magnificent beaches and windswept moorland with ever changing light and weather - a landscape photographers dream.
