British Columbia had its worst fire season on record this year. Fires caused devastation throughout the province and left a haze of smoke into fall. On this summer day in Valhalla Provincial Park, I woke up hours before sunrise to put myself in the right position to capture the morning light. The smoke that settled in the valleys added a moody ambience to the layers of mountains.
