    Edit Photo Details Lava Flow in Hawaii   #hawaii #volcano #lava #flow #vent #kilauea #bigisland #puuoo
One of the most exciting hikes in the Hawaiian Big Island is to see hot lava from the Kilauea volcano at dusk. The lava flows down from the Puʻu ʻŌʻō vent towards the sea, mainly underground. But excess lava makes it to the surface when the lava tubes get saturated, coming up through the cracks in the old lava fields. Moving at a slow but steady pace, it makes an unforgettable experience.
