The Matterhorn and the Dawn of Winter
After spending my first day of photographing the Alps in Zermatt, stumbling around through freezing rain and harsh winds, I was excited to return the next day when the weather was clear. I wasn't prepared for how beautiful the Matterhorn can be on a sunny day and I was glad to be there before winter covered the landscape in snow, even though ice was already beginning to creep and cover the reflecting pond at Rotenboden (Translating to "Red Earth," referencing the areas red rocks.)
